From 1969 to 1980 Bryan Mumford made a variety of musical instruments including mountain dulcimers, hammered dulcimers, bowed psalteries, hummels, guitars, salterios, Harminiums (Harminimum), Puny Tunes, and a Padouk Garoutte. They were made under the trade names of “El Pato Ciego” and “Mixolydian Musical Wood Works”.
These instruments were bought by many professional musicians including Donovan, Joni Mitchell, Paul Winter and Artis The Spoonman.
Mountain dulcimer in nara and western red cedar with rosewood binding and mother of pearl inlay.
Hammered dulcimer in figured birch with inlay.
Swedish hummel in walnut and spruce with silver and lapis lazuli inlay.
Steel string guitar in Indian rosewood and spruce with mother of pearl inlay.
Padouk Garoutte in padouk and spruce.
Puny Tune in kingwood, satinwood, padouk, and ebony.
Harminium in koa and Western red cedar.
